Profile

Since June 2023, Akhila Johnson has been serving as an Assistant Professor (Guest) in the Department of Sociology at Mar Athanasius College, Kothamangalam, following the submission of her Ph.D thesis under UGC Senior Research Fellowship. Her doctoral research focuses on the maternal caregiving implications for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in Kerala. Notably, during this research period, she developed Marital Satisfaction Scale (MSS), which is now copyright registered.

Prior to her current role, she held positions as a Government Guest Lecturer at the Department of Sociology, St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, and as a Management Guest Lecturer at the Department of Sociology, Vimala College, Thrissur, during the academic year 2017–2018.

Her expertise extends to proficient use of data analysis softwares such as SPSS, PSPP, and NVivo. She has also contributed as a Freelance Educator for Teaching Exams (HSST Sociology) at Entri, a prominent educational platform in India. She has successfully completed a certificate course on 'Qualitative Research Methods: Conversational Interviewing' offered by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Moreover, she holds a Diploma in Computer Applications and have completed skill certificate courses in SPSS and research methods.
