HOD’s Desk

Greeting from the Department of Economics.

With the increasing importance of Economics in the newly emerging world economic order, the ability to respond to rapid changes in the environment calls for proper understanding of the economic forces that affect economic outcomes. We at the Department of Economics aim to train students to think analytically about social issues and provide a solid foundation for further study and careers in economics. We have designed our curriculum so as to transform our students to economic practitioners who can make use of the theoretical academic literature and do empirical and econometric analysis using the latest approaches and methods.
At the postgraduate and research department with an enviable legacy of illustrious teachers, we have carved a niche for ourselves as a Centre of Learning in which Economics is taught with a difference. We have incorporated new approaches to economics curriculum and pedagogy. At the economics department students and faculty act in unison to make teaching-learning process highly purposeful and goal oriented.
