Integrated Postgraduate Department of Biology
The Department of Integrated Biology was established in the year 2020. The Department offers a 5- year integrated M. Sc. Programme in Biology. The programme has a balanced semester- based course structure with a flexible curricula which emphasize interdisciplinary nature of science in the 21st century and promote exploration, innovation and research. This course has been devised specially for students with research mind set and can pursue after higher secondary education.
The essence of this new generation programme is integration-reintegration of the many sub disciplines of biology, and the integration of physics, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, etc. into the field of biology with an aim of creating a research community with the capacity to tackle a broad range of scientific and societal problems.
Integrated Biology represents a complement approach to biological research.
This interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of Biology will allow more rapid progress on complex and interrelated challenges such as those in the areas of health, environment, energy, and food.
