Anakha Babu, 2015-18 batch-State Executive Member, Dhisha and PhD Scholar, University of Madras

Mar Athanasius College stands out as a significant milestone in my life journey. I gained admission to MA College in 2015, enrolled in the sociology department, and this institution, along with its department, opened up a new world for me, particularly in the realm of academics. My academic progress has been consistently excellent, as reflected in my high scores.

Being a part of the sociology department, I actively participated in numerous conferences, seminars, and workshops. These engagements significantly contributed to my growth as a researcher. The institution and the sociology department have played a pivotal role in shaping my academic career, leading to a noteworthy achievement – the successful clearance of the UGC NET 2019 Cycle.
Subsequently, I ventured into the field by taking on various roles in the NGO Dhisha, serving as the state secretary for three years and later as the state vice president for one year. Following this, I transitioned into the role of an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at LISSAH College under the University of Calicut. This marked the commencement of my teaching career, a path I chose due to the inspiration drawn from my teachers. I extend my gratitude to all my teachers and faculty members who have been integral to my journey in making the right career choices.
Undoubtedly, I believe my decision to pursue this path is correct. I can confidently affirm that M.A. College is a treasure trove of possibilities that has significantly contributed to my personal and professional growth.
