M.Sc. Microbiology (2010-2012 Batch)

Ever I have constantly desired to unravel the riddle of life since I was young. This inspired my decision to pursue a career in biology.The Department of Microbiology at Mar Athanasius College gave me the strength and advantage I needed to pursue a successful career in the field of life science.I decided to investigate and expand my research interests in the field of molecular disease diagnostics after completing two wonderful years of my Master's programme in microbiology.

Apart from the advancedknowledge on different areas of life science such as medical microbiology, plant microbiology, molecular biology, and genetics, I was able to get insights into biostatistics, bioinformatics, and fundamental computer applications during my master's programme. In addition to the knowledge acquired during the curriculum,the lecturers and professors on campus offer a supportive, understanding, and welcoming environment that nurtures student growth. All of this, I believe, strengthened me as a researcher, provided me with excellent research experience, and encouraged the continuation of my academic path toward a Ph.D.Without that encouraging ambiance, I could not have achieved what I have.Being alumni of this institute makes me very proud.
