Students had a meaningful interaction with members of the Toda tribe during their visit to the Nilgiris in Ooty. They learned about the community’s unique culture, traditions, lifestyle, and traditional practices through direct engagement. This experience deepened their understanding of indigenous communities and enriched their sociological perspective.

Angelin Joshy of MA Sociology was honored with the Fr. Jimmy K. Thomas Best Outgoing Student in Sociology Award and the Fr. John Kattakkattu Award for securing the top position in Statistics[2026]. In the same year, Aslam Mustafa received the Fr. John Kattakkattu Award for Best Dissertation.
